What is MPF?
In Hong Kong, Employers are required to make arrangements for both full-time and part-time employees aged between 18 and 65 and employed for 60 days or more to join a registered Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme.
Mandatory contributions are calculated on the basis of 5% of an employee's relevant income, with an additional 5% matched by the employer. Employers and employees can also make voluntary contributions in addition to the mandatory contributions.
It is required that all employers provide each employee with a monthly pay-slip showing the employee's relevant income and the amount of MPF contribution made.
